Downloading files from FTP

Downloading files to the FTP server is quick and easy, and can be done from any computer with an active internet connection.

  1. Open a browser window. Any browser (Firefox, MSIE, Safari, Opera, etc.) will work.
  2. Log into the FTP server.

  1. Once you're logged into the FTP server, double click the 'documents' folder.

    • This folder is your Barney documents folder, and can be accessed from any campus computer, as well as through FTP.

  1. Once you're in the 'documents' folder in FTP, double click on the file that you want to download.

    • A download dialog box should open. If you plan on editing the file you are downloading, it would be advisable to click 'Save' in the download dialog box.
    • Make sure you know where the file is downloading to. Many times this will be the 'Desktop' of your computer.

If you encounter problems trying to download documents from the FTP server, please call the reference desk at (509)323-5931, or the Help desk at (509)323-5550.
